FAQ & setup guides
Crewpost is the world's first AI marketing team for social. Four agents search, write, and analyze so you get more leads, customers, and profit. Practical steps for connecting channels, plus known social-network limits (Insights delays, API rate limits, Instagram photo rules).
Connect Instagram (Business) to Crewpost
Crewpost needs an Instagram Business account linked to a Facebook Page — not personal profiles in Accounts Center.
- 1
Open Meta Business Suite: https://business.facebook.com/ (use the Facebook login that owns your Page).
- 2
Add the Instagram account: use Add Instagram accounts (or Settings → Accounts → Instagram accounts) and log in / confirm the IG account (e.g. @crewpostai).
- 3
Link it to a Page asset: under your business account’s Pages / assets, open the Facebook Page and connect that Instagram account to the Page (Page ↔ Instagram link). Accounts Center alone is not enough.
- 4
Confirm the Instagram account is Professional → Business (or Creator converted for Business tools) on Instagram.
- 5
In Crewpost go to Accounts → Connect Facebook / Instagram, finish OAuth, and select both the Facebook Page and the Instagram account in the chooser.
- 6
If Instagram still does not appear after linking: (1) Confirm META_REQUEST_INSTAGRAM_SCOPES is on for Crewpost so OAuth asks for Instagram permissions, then disconnect Facebook in Crewpost Accounts and Connect Meta again (fresh token). (2) You do not need to delete Pages in Meta Business Suite — only reconnect in Crewpost. (3) In Business Suite open the Page → Instagram and confirm the linked @handle.
Why this matters
- Crewpost discovers Instagram via the Graph API field instagram_business_account on each Facebook Page you administer.
- Meta Accounts Center (personal profiles list) is not the same as Business Suite Page assets — personal IG profiles will not show up for publishing or Engage.
- Without Instagram OAuth scopes enabled on the Crewpost Meta app, reconnect often only lists Facebook Pages even when IG is linked correctly.

- What is Crewpost?
- Crewpost is the world's first AI marketing team for social media. Four AI agents (Writer, Designer, Strategist, Analyst) search, write, and analyze: they post every day, study your site, and learn what works so you get more leads, customers, and profit. Paste a website or profile — the Analyst maps what you do and what to publish next. Generate, schedule, publish, and engage on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and WhatsApp Engage. Slogan: One team. One post.
- Why does Crewpost say “No Instagram Business account was found” when I see Instagram in Meta?
- You are probably looking at Meta Accounts Center (personal profiles). Crewpost only lists Instagram accounts that are Business/Professional and linked to a Facebook Page inside Meta Business Suite. Link IG to the Page under business.facebook.com → Pages/assets, then reconnect in Crewpost.
- See step-by-step guide →
- I only see Facebook Pages after connecting Meta. Is that a Crewpost bug?
- Two common causes: (1) Instagram is not linked to that Facebook Page in Business Suite (Page → Instagram). (2) Crewpost OAuth was Page-only — reconnect after Instagram scopes are enabled (META_REQUEST_INSTAGRAM_SCOPES). You do not need to delete Pages in Meta; in Crewpost, disconnect the Facebook channel(s) then Connect Facebook / Instagram again so Meta asks for Instagram permissions.
- See step-by-step guide →
- Do I need to disconnect all Facebook pages to see Instagram?
- In Meta Business Suite: no — keep your Page and IG link. In Crewpost: yes, do a fresh Meta connect after linking IG (disconnect the Facebook Page channel in Accounts, then Connect Facebook / Instagram again). That refreshes the token and re-runs discovery so linked Instagram Business accounts can appear in the chooser.

- What is the difference between Accounts Center and Business Suite?
- Accounts Center links personal Facebook, Instagram, Threads, WhatsApp for login convenience. Business Suite manages business assets (Pages, ad accounts, linked Instagram Business). Crewpost publishing uses Business assets only.
- Why does Instagram need a photo to post?
- Instagram feed publishing through Meta’s Graph API requires an image or video. Caption-only posts are not supported the way LinkedIn or Facebook text posts are. Add a photo in Write or Studio first. Reels and Stories are not supported in Crewpost yet.
- Why are Instagram or Facebook Insights empty or delayed after I post?
- Meta can delay engagement and insights data by up to about 48 hours after publish. Crewpost shows last-saved numbers when available; use Update stats on Insights after that window. Fresh zeros right after posting are normal — not a failed publish. Facebook views/clicks and richer IG views need the `read_insights` permission — if those stay empty after the lag window, reconnect Facebook under Accounts.
- What are Meta (Facebook / Instagram) API rate limits?
- Meta enforces several layers: (1) Application — roughly 200 × daily active users per rolling hour (header X-App-Usage). (2) User — per-user hourly cap across apps (code 17; exact number not published). (3) Page — with a Page token, about 4800 × engaged users / 24h (X-Business-Use-Case-Usage / pages; codes 32 / 80001). (4) Instagram Business — about 4800 × impressions / 24h per app+IG user (code 80002), plus a separate publish cap of about 50 IG containers per account per 24h. Usage headers report percentages (0–100); at ~100% Meta throttles. Publish, Insights, and Engage share these budgets. Crewpost maps clear “rate limit — try later” errors, batches Insights (≤6×/UTC day, sequential, soft-aborts near 90% usage or on throttle), and does not retry when already limited.
- Why does Update stats sometimes skip live numbers?
- To stay under LinkedIn, X, and Meta API rate limits, Crewpost refreshes live Insights in batches: about every 4 hours and up to 6 batches per project per UTC day. Between refreshes (and on first page load) we show the last saved snapshot. If a network returns a rate-limit (HTTP 429 or Meta codes like 4 / 17 / 32 / 80001 / 80002), or Meta usage headers approach 100%, we stop further live calls that run and keep your last good numbers.
- Why don’t personal LinkedIn profiles show Insights?
- Live LinkedIn post statistics in Crewpost need a Company Page connection. Personal profile posts are not supported for Insights yet — reconnect a Company Page under Accounts if you need stats.
- What are LinkedIn API rate limits?
- LinkedIn does not publish standard per-endpoint numbers in public docs — check your app’s Developer Portal → Analytics after calling an endpoint. Limits reset daily at midnight UTC (application + member). Community Management Development tier is capped (historically ~500 app / ~100 member calls per 24h). Crewpost uses sequential Insights fetches, snapshots, and early-abort on 429.
- What are the limits for X (Twitter) Insights and Engage?
- Insights uses X public metrics (impressions, likes, replies, reposts). Click counts are not available from that API. Engage like/reply needs the right OAuth scopes — if hearts never appear, reconnect X under Accounts then Pull the post. X enforces per-endpoint windows (often 15 minutes) and returns HTTP 429 when exceeded. Heavy Pull or Update stats can hit limits; wait and try again later.
- What are TikTok publish limits?
- TikTok Content Posting is strict: low per-minute request caps per user token (on the order of ~6 post-init requests/minute) and a shared daily Direct Post quota per creator account (often cited ~15 posts/day across all API clients — confirm in TikTok’s current docs). Sandbox / unaudited apps are private-only and capped on test users. Crewpost publishes videos sequentially; Engage is not live yet.
- How deep can Crewpost pull comment threads?
- Facebook and Instagram Engage pull about two levels of replies. X is conversation/search-limited. LinkedIn Engage focuses on top-level comments. Deeper nesting on the native apps may not all appear in Crewpost.
- When do I need to reconnect a channel?
- Code updates never force reconnect. You only reconnect when Crewpost needs new provider permissions (e.g. Instagram publish/comments, X like.write) or a token expired. Accounts shows an Update permissions banner when optional scopes are missing; publishing and existing Engage features keep working until you update.
- What does TikTok support in Crewpost today?
- Connect + schedule / Post now for short videos (MP4/MOV). Sandbox or unaudited apps require a Private TikTok account and posts stay Only me until TikTok approves production. Photos via API are not supported yet. Engage (Pull comments, like, reply, auto-comment) is not available for TikTok yet — Accounts shows “coming soon” for that channel. LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube support comment Engage (YouTube: reply only — no like-on-comment API). WhatsApp Engage is inbound DMs in Responses.
- What does YouTube support in Crewpost today?
- Connect your YouTube channel with Google OAuth, then schedule / Post now with a video (MP4/MOV/WebM). Caption becomes the video description; title uses the draft title or first line. Engage supports **comment list + reply** after you reconnect for `youtube.force-ssl` (Accounts may show Update permissions). YouTube has no like-on-comment API. Google may require YouTube Data API quota and app verification for production users outside your test list.
